The following pages introduce you to the vital role of the PA in school life and maybe to some areas of activity that you were not aware of. PA 's are always known for their fund raising activities and that is unquestionably a very important part of their role. But the Hayesfield PA is a voice for all parties who have an interest in the life of the school. As such we get involved in a variety of activities.

Curriculum evenings
The curriculum evenings help to explain the subject areas that your daughter is studying and are particularly useful where teaching methods have often changed considerably since some of us were in the classroom. They give you the confidence to talk to your daughter about her subjects and get involved in discussing homework and course work. The PFTA work with the school to help decide which areas of the curriculum will be covered in these evenings, act as facilitators on the evening to help parents / carers get involved and of course provide refreshments.

Consultation evenings
The consultation evenings are held when a change is being considered to ensure that parents and carers have a true opportunity to listen to the options and provide their views on the proposals. The school is well aware that changes will only be of benefit if all views have been considered when planning them and that parents and carers can often provide an valuable insight into the factors to be considered.

Fund Raising
Lastly - yes we do definitely fund raise by running events such as the very popular annual autumn fair and being involved in the concerts and arts evening. In addition this year we held a very successful quiz evening which we plan to repeat soon and in addition have plans for a dance and a wine testing evening next year. These events raise valuable funds that are used by all departments through out the school. They are all also great fun and a good chance to meet other parents / carers and feel closer to the life of the school.
