'Young Bathematician of the Year'

In November 2007, Hayesfield School was proud to present the first annual 'Young Bathematician of the Year'. Over a hundred A level mathematics students from several state and independent schools in the Bath area competed for the prize. There were six rounds with a variety of challenges. The creative round saw students decorating a biscuit with maths and some photos of their excellent efforts are shown here. Hayesfield students were particularly efficient in their quadratic factorisation. The event was a massive success and we look forward to hosting it again in 2008. Mr C. Bent
